50 CVs, 3 months, 17,500 lines of code – the first edition of the Savangard Labs internship program has ended. The student gained their first professional experience, they learned how to work on large projects and what differs work on a commercial project from theoretical knowledge acquired at the university and … they stayed with us.
Students made their first professional steps under the guidance of mentors, carrying out independent tasks and learning how projects work. What has been emphasised is the practical experience: getting up to speed with the team work, learning about the tools and technologies including Java EE, Eclipse, PostgreSQL and pgAdmin, Node, Jira, GitLab, Jenkins, working in the Object Programming methodology, Scrum, Agile, extending knowledge of programming languages – all this, to make the best use of 3 months for development and preparation for work in the programming team.
“The internship at Savangard Labs allowed me to get to know the realities of work on commercial projects. Thanks to the support of mentors, implementation in the project realities was stress-free – I always had someone to ask for help, “said XXX, Student of Information Engineering at Częstochowa University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.
“The Savangard Labs internship program is a different experience than theoretical knowledge gained at university. Working on real projects and carrying out independent tasks is throwing in the deep end, but also the most effective way to develop “- describes Damian, 4th-year student of Information Engineering at Częstochowa University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.
We offered permanent cooperation to all interns, and 100% of them decided to stay in our team. As employees of Savangard, they will broaden their experience by realising projects for clients from the banking industry.
The next edition of the program starts in July. If you are looking for a place where you can spread your wings, take a look at our Careers page.
